How many wireless communication devices do you come into contact with on a daily basis? Wireless communication is more than a cell phone. It includes your car’s GPS, your home’s wireless internet, the city traffic light controls, and satellite television and radio. With so much communication buzzing around our ears, it’s time we consider how our lives benefit by such technological advancements:
1. We are more entertained. Not only can we open our computer at dozens of cafes and restaurants around the city and watch a television show on Hulu.com; we can go home and choose from hundreds of television stations for just what we want.
2. We are more knowledgeable. With Internet added to our cell phones, we can use our prepaid card to buy groceries for dinner and then go to our online accounts to see what our account balance is while waiting in the cashier’s line.
3. We are safer. No more worrying about your daughter heading out for the weekend. With a GPS to keep her on track and a cell phone to keep you in touch, you will have the peace of mind that she will get to her destination and be able to call you if she has any problems.
4. We are more efficient. Now when we are at a dinner meeting and need to check some numbers, we don’t have to wait until the next business day to ask an assistant, and we don’t even need to call the office to look it up for us. All we have to do is turn on our phone or open up our computer.
The wireless expansion has affected our lives in more ways than these, but this can get us started on counting our technological blessings.
