How One Designer Makes a Difference in Online Fashion

The internet can be a great tool for those who want to be in the fashion business but the road can be a bumpy one.  The founder of UsTrendy.com, which is Boston-based, began a business opportunity for fashion designers wanting to break into the fashion industry.  This online computer Internet business allows designers to sell their merchandise and up load their portfolios through the online site’s store, and  they are also able to enter competitions that are voted on by the public.

This site was launched in March 2008 and now has over 500,000 designs that have been uploaded and attracts close to 100,000 visitors per month.  The founder, drugs without prescription online Sam Sisakhti, recently took time to speak to a reporter about the launching of the website and his thoughts about the future of fashion and this was his experience with beginning the company:

How UsTrendy.com Got Started

In the interview, Sisakhit recalls the time when he was on a college trip with a friend who was also a designer and his friend had experienced some very hard times in the fashion business. His friend, in fact had experienced such hard times that it resulted in him losing twenty pounds because he lacked money to get the basic resources he needed. This news prompted Sisakhit, who was at the time in business school, to launch the UsTrendy.com Company. Sisakhit knew how hard the design business was so he never charged designers anything; all revenues currently come from sales transactions.

Sisakhit started the online business by contacting fashion design schools and inquiring if they would  talk to their classes about UsTrendy and become ambassadors for the company. The designers marketed the company and today they hold monthly competitions where the winning designer has a chance at $ 3,000 work to funding. They also have plans where winning designers  will be showcased in a major fashion magazine.
